Email marketing is one of the most powerful ways that you can connect with fans and promote your music.
Just to be clear, I’m not talking about spamming people. Over the years, many people have abused this incredibly powerful resource. As a result, the phrase “email marketing” seems to make some people cringe.
What I’m talking about is permission based email marketing. When done right, this is something that will not only help you reach your fans and attract new ones, it will also help you build a stronger connection with your fans.
Offer your fans something with no variable expense (i.e. after it’s created it doesn’t cost you anything to give it away), like a digital download, in exchange for their email. Let them know that they will also receive a free copy of your weekly newsletter. This way, you build a list of fans that actually want to receive email updates from you.
Anytime you have a new album coming out, new tour dates, our just want to make a few quick bucks selling some merch, simply shoot an email out to your subscriber list. They will be more than happy to hear from you. After all, these are the people that signed up to receive this kind of information from you.
If you’re new to the concept of email marketing, it may seem a bit over whelming at first. Don’t worry all you need is an account with an email autoresponder service. Click Here to find one that’s right for you.
